The 4C’s of Diamonds
Diamonds are graded on the basis of the 4C’s: Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat weight.Color— A scale measuring the color of diamonds from colorless to yellow, brown and even pink, blue, and green. The highest graded diamonds generally have no color—like a drop of pure water.
Clarity— The characteristics of a diamond when viewed under 10X magnification. A flawless diamond will have no inclusions or blemishes when viewed under magnification.
Cut— This is an evaluation of how the facets of the diamond interact with light.
Carat Weight— The precise measurement of how much a diamond weighs, usually expressed in decimal points.
